Want your hair bleached

Want platinum blonde hair? then there is a wonderful chance that you have considered having your hair bleached in the past. The problem is if you dont bleach your hair properly, it may turn out to be a real nightmare. Following are some excellent tips and tricks on bleaching your hair the correct way.

Visit a Beauty Store

One of the very first things that you should to do is buy a hair bleaching kit. Although its most likely possible to buy one from the local chemist or drugs store, its advisable and a much better option to visit a specialist beauty store so that you can have a conversation with the shop employees, they may offer good advice on which hair bleaching kit to buy.

Choosing the correct hair bleaching kit for your hair color

It is absolutely critical that you use a bleach kit specifically designed for your hair color. using a bleaching kit for black hair when your natural hair color is blonde, you are almost certainly not going to get the results you may be expecting..

Always read the instructions on the hair bleaching kit

Always be sure to read, understand and follow the instructions that come with the bleach kit. If you fail to follow the instructions, again, your hair may not be as you expected. Its a good idea to always wear latex gloves, even if they are not provided in the kit. Consider using a plastic wrap to get better results. You can also use a blow dryer occasionally, occasionally!!.

Check the bleached Hair Every 20 Minutes

During the process of bleaching your hair its best to check on it at least every 20 minutes. When it starts to turn a yellow color, its time to add bleach to the roots of your hair,You will be instructed not to do this at the beginning of the instructions. It usually takes about forty minutes, up to an hour to have your hair bleached.

Rinsing the Bleach from the Hair

Once your hair is bleached, rinse the bleach from the hair. Be sure to rinse your hair thoroughly and use a quality conditioner. It may be provided for you in the hair bleach kit, if not, use your own moisturizing hair conditioner. continue conditioning the hair for around a week, try to avoid using shampoo for three days after you have had your hair bleached.

Permanent natural hair color

Jan 18, 2009 Author: Covergirl | Filed under: Hair-Color-Reviews

So..  Is there such a product as a permanent natural hair color, the answer is yes. I have been coloring my hair since I was tall enough to reach the sink and I have always used the more commonly known chemical hair colors from the major manufacturers such as Loreal, Clairol, Wella etc. But when I saw that herbitant had won the best natural hair color award for 2008 I decided to give it a try and see what all the fuss was about.

I have to say that right out of the box I was really impressed with this product. It was well packaged and had a feel of real quality about the contents inside. Because I have never used a natural hair color product before I thought it best to read through the Instructions and information that cam in the box. Now, Im no Einstein, yet I understood everything perfectly ok and was confident enough to carry on and color my hair.

I have to say when I completed the process for the first time I was absolutely amazed at the results.. My hair feels stronger than ever and it looks really healthy.. I can not believe the vibrance of the color and shine. Its great..  Because Herbitant uses a natural herbal base with no ammonia I think it adds real nutrients to your hair bringing out its natural strength.

I am really impressed with this product… Although Im not entirely sure if its a 100% natural permanent hair color product I do know that it contains no ammonia and thats definately a huge plus in my book. My hats off to herbitant for creating a real quality hair product.

Best Hair Color 2008

Best Blonde Hair Collor 2008 Award

Herbatint : Best hair color award 2008

Congratulations goes to Herbatint for winning the best hair color award for 2008. With 47% of the votes Herbatint was a clear winner over its rivals who included Loreal, Clairol, Wella and many more. Herbatint recieved some excellent comments for the prestigious best hair color award including some great feedback abouts its quality and long lasting color. One of the best comments recieved was from Sam in London UK who was especially pleased with this product.

Sam says: This is an absolutely wonderful product, I color my hair often and have tried many other hair color products but this one is by far the best hair color product on the market, the instructions are clear and concise, the quality of the aplicating kit is top notch and whats most important is the color lasts… When you bundle all that in with the fact that its natural and wont damage your hair you cant go wrong.

We had so many comments similar to sams, Many of you particularly liked the fact that it was a natural product and that it contains no ammonia. It seems that more and more people are moving over to natural hair color products these days.. It seems that manufacturers can now achieve the same results without using chemicals but instead using natural ingredients. Heres a little clip of text from the herbatint hair color page on ihealthtree:

  • NO MORE AMMONIA
  • NO MORE SMELL
  • NO MORE PERFUME
  • NO MORE ALCOHOL
  • NO MORE RESORCINOL
  • NO MORE PARABENS

As you can see its quite impressive. especially as most of you said that the color effect was much more vibrant and longer lasting. Its so refreshing (and obviously quite worrying) to see a small company beat the big buys such as Loreal etc, by selling a quality, natural hair color product at an affordable price.

So there you have it… Its official, The best hair color product of 2008 is Herbatint. Congratulations

Again I would like to say a huge thank you to the 4073 people who took the time to answer all the questions and complete the poll. I would also like to thank the 313 people who attempted but never finished :) ;)

If you want to buy this product Ive teamed up with ihealthtree.com to bring you an amazing offer.. for a limited time only they are offering up to 50% off the whole Herbatint range so if you want to give this hair color a try, get on over there now and get yourself some…You can click one of the hair color thumbnails at the top of this post to purchase this product, Links will open in a new page.

Best Hair Color

You have probably spent hours putting your outfits together, your earrings, blouse, toenail polish etc.  Have you ever wondered if your current hair color matches your skin color or tone? If you color your hair at home or if you get it colored in a hair salon, it is absolutely critical you choose the correct hair color shade to make the best of your skin tone. The wrong hair color can give your complexion a washed out or muddy look. If you choose a shade of hair color that accents your coloring and skin tone, you can rejuvenate and enhance your complexion.

To do to find your perfect hair color, pick up a mirror and then examine your coloring. The secret to finding the right hair color is to complement your skins undertones with slight or subtle contrast.

Best hair color for skin with pink or blue undertones
Best hair colors are reds, blondes or very intense browns work well for the base hair color. Go with golden, honey or ash highlights for contrast.

Best hair color for skin with red undertones
More than anything, avoid vibrant or bright red tones. Do not go too blond or too dark. Best hair colors are a golden base color or honey brown. Add caramel color lowlights to give a sun-kissed appearance to help your skin appear less red.

Best hair color for skin with yellow undertones
Dont go with yellow or golden hair color, which will make your skin look a little sallow. The best hair color is a rich, deep base color like dark chocolate, mahogany, chestnut, or auburn. Use highlights in shades of cinnamon, burgundy, red, or dark copper.

Finding out what your skin undertone is will help you to find the best hair color for you. you should also look to see if you have a cool or warm complexion. To examine your coloring better, wear a white shirt in natural light. As a guide, if your veins are blueish, you are most likely cool. If they’re more green in color, your skin tone is probably warm.

Tiny touches celebrity hair accessories

If you take a closer look at the trends both on and off the catwalk this winter, you might well be amazed at what you discover, Plaits, twists, unusual partings and decorative clips, a whole host of different touches that are making a big impression. So, forget about making grand gestures or having to commit to a complete restyle, instead, every now and then you should opt for small style switches or add a well chosen accessory, its all about minimum effort for maximum impact. Think of hairstyling as similar to wearing a new belt or different shoes with a dress rather than investing in a whole new outfit.

Who is wearing hair accessories

A lister cannot rely on designer outfits to outshine competitors anymore so if their hairstyle has that little bit extra, they stand more chance of getting noticed. You only get one moment on the red carpet and hair details draw attention to the face which is the “money shot”. Take a look at the above pictures of Mila Jovovich, Rihanna, Jessica Alba and Hilary Swank. All have used small touches, changes or accessories to create a different look to their usual style.

Get the look on shorter hair

Remember not to let the detail take over your look, it should only be a feature of your style. If you decide to use accessories, make sure you keep them minimal and avoid over fussy braids or curls. Keep it relaxed and stick to a strong parting, a small flash of color or a small vintage clasp.

Get the look on long hair

The more hair you have to work with the more detail you can use in your hair. Hair swept back into a half-up do, and secured with a corsage or combed in a strong middle parting for a 70’s vibe look great on long hair as do all kinds of plaits. The key though, whatever your hair length, is to play with your look and experiment.

Sleepover hair bad hair day

bad-hair-day

Here are some tips for taking care of your hair whilest you are asleep.

  1. Pillow Talk – Hair can catch on your usual cotton pillowcases, particularly if you toss and turn alot in your sleep. Switch to a satin or silk pillowcase so your hair is free to slide around without snagging. Silk pillowcases are also good at prolonging your blowdry until the morning because they prevent frizz.. If you dont feel like splashing out on a silk pillowcase, simply  invest in a silk scarf and wrap it around your head before bed.
  2. Pony tail long hair – If you have very long hair or extensions, you need to stop tangling whilst you sleep to prevent breakage. Loosely tie your hair a no snag elastic band into a low pony tail or if thats uncomfortable, two bunches at the side of your head, both will keep your hair more tangle free than if it was loose.
  3. Braid before bedtime – Not only does braiding your hair before bed save you styling time in the morning, it creates a different type of kink no curling iron could create. If your after a tighter, crimped curl, then do smaller, tighter plaits or for boho tousles create one or two big loose ones. Simply shake out the next day for an easy peasy style
  4. Brush up – Get into the habit of brushing before bed to avoid a matted mess when you wake up. Choose a wide tooth comb or a boar bristle brush and section by section, work your way from the tips of your hair up to the roots. Regular brushing also promotes hair growth by stimulating scalp circulation.
  5. Fringe Control – If you have fringe that has a tendency to do its own thing and flick up, then take control by pinning it down with a few kirby grips to make it lye flat throughout the night. You can also use the same method for annoying cow-licks or shorter layers that rebel.

There you go, 5 easy tips for avoiding those bad hair days :)
